Christine fell in love with writing the moment her fifth grade teacher Mr. Joyce issued everyone a pen as a way to communicate that words matter. She is a former high school and college newspaper editor—the photo to the right is circa 1990 in the office of Belmont High School’s Highpoint newspaper.

After leaving academia, Christine kicked off her public writing career as the founder/editor of Boston Mamas, a pioneer in the hyperlocal lifestyle niche. Founded in 2006 (and retired in 2022), Boston Mamas received numerous accolades and covered everything from events and local nonprofits to broader lifestyle editorial. She held particular affection for editorial oriented around easing the modern parenting grind, books, food, and—in the wake of the pandemic—sweatshirts that looked like real shirts.

Christine has written for major media outlets such as The Washington Post, CNN, and Boston Globe Magazine, earning cover feature placement and even one #1 most read article.

She is the co-author of Minimalist Parenting, a book to help parents enjoy modern family life more by doing less. Minimalist Parenting has been featured in The New York Times, Redbook, The Huffington Post, NPR, The Boston Globe, Parenting, and more. Following publication of this book, Christine appeared in the documentary Minimalism (originally streamed on Netflix).

In 2023, Christine began publishing her Substack, There’s Always A Story, in which she shares about meaning and connection in life’s big and small moments.
