#reverb10: Core Story

Today's #reverb10 writerly prompt is: December 31: Core Story. What central story is at the core of you, and how do you share it with the world? (Bonus: Consider your reflections from this month. Look through them to discover a thread you may not have noticed until today.) (Author: Molly O'Neill)

First, I wanted to thank the organizers of #reverb10. Responding to the writing prompts has been a wonderfully reflective process. I had zero expectation that I would be able to participate every day, but I did. I can still hardly believe it. Between #reverb10, my weekly pregnancy photo journal project, my weekly reflections on gratitude, and some other miscellaneous entries, I posted 42 entries this month. (For reference, I posted 4, 8, and 11 entries in September, October, and November, respectively!)

Looking through my #reverb10 posts, it’s clear that the story that was at the core of me for 2010 is one of self-acceptance –- whether it related to my appearance, accepting that I did the best that I could in former phases of life in order to find healing in letting go of painful baggage, or embracing imperfection.

And what I love about all of the negative mojo I cast to the wayside this year is that now there's all of this empty space to welcome new adventures and awesomeness. Bring on 2011.
