Though it's starting to feel like fall in Boston (I ran in a tee not tank this morning and OMG I am wearing SLIPPERS right now), I am clinging mentally to a summer of firsts, especially for my sweet Laurel. Laurel's birthday was on Saturday and given all that has happened for her over the past 10 years, I was feeling particularly reflective about the big lesson I learned from her, and her summer of firsts.
