Do you identify as an extrovert or introvert? I'm definitely a hybrid. Being around people can light me up and give me incredible energy and I imagine most people would assume I am an extrovert, yet I also often find it challenging to get myself out the door or generally interact with people sometimes.
Jon invited me to sit with him by the fire pit at Mount Snow after skiing and as soon as we walked out and saw other people there I was like, "Gah, humans!"
But then I decided to move into the moment. To explore (my 2019 word) not avoiding humans and chat with people at the fire. To say hi first. I offered to take photos for a couple and, later on, a family where the mom was documenting everything so not getting in the photos.
Anyway, my point is, it felt really wonderful to act against my natural reaction and have some lovely interactions with humans. And then I was rewarded with some beautiful moments of solitude with my favorite person.
