Explore 2019: End of Day Ritual

What do you do at the end of the day to transition from work brain to home brain?

This morning I had a wake up call conversation with Jon. My work days are pretty intense and compressed. While I do have two days a week with full "normal" work hours, the other three weekdays are technically shorter because I am doing the mid/late-afternoon run around with kids. And we're in a stretch right now where there is some weird, not-ideal juggling. For example, yesterday I was on a conference call and I needed Laurel to sign Violet out from school and then I needed to pull over twice in the 0.8 mile stretch from school to home to talk during the call (because I am really anti-talking-while-driving). It just all felt too frantic.

Anyway, I thought that end-of-day Christine Zombie Mode (when I have been so on all day that I am toast by dinner) was more the exception than the rule but I learned from Jon that most evenings this is what he's coming home to after work. UGH! I don't like Christine Zombie Mode!

So, I need to work on my end of day ritual. My biggest challenge is since I work out of a home studio I don't have a commute to decompress. I would love to know what you do to transition!
