Embrace 2020 68/365: letting go
Oh boy, our rhythm was definitely off today (I blame daylight savings!) -- there were several miscommunications and mishaps, but one thing I appreciate is that my family knows how to apologize and issue forgiveness. (I apologized several times to these girls today.) It's all about letting go.
Which is kind of fitting because yesterday in my lesson at Bromley Mountain my teacher Mike kept reminding me to relax and stand tall (and stop letting my brain get in the way). Basically, when I get scared when I'm skiing I squat and widen my stance, which makes my quads burn and then I end up exhausted and sore (not just my quads, but my toes and bunions too). This morning I stayed almost exclusively on the greens, just practicing letting go, relaxing, leaning forward, standing tall. And wouldn't you know, everything was a lot easier.
