Embrace 2020 78/365: miracle baby

Wishing my sweet Violet the happiest 9th birthday. Her trajectory into the world was definitely dramatic (unexpected pregnancy after what I thought was secondary infertility, 58 hour labor + a natural VBAC, which is one of my greatest life achievements) and she continues to amaze me and bring tears to my eyes at every turn. Most immediately she could very well have had all manner of meltdowns as all her birthday outings got cancelled but she has sailed through it all and this morning she presented her family members with portraits she created of us. Because "it feels good to give on your birthday." I love you, Violet. Happy birthday.
