Do you consider yourself an emotional person? We joke a lot around here that I'm an emotional robot...total survival tactic developed during childhood, but I tend to go blank faced when dealing with emotional things. As a kid this was a protective measure to not draw attention to myself.

Well, Christmas morning I was a mess, but in a good way. Jon and the girls were so thoughtful and loving and one gift that Violet gave me -- a "What I Love About Mom" fill in the blank book -- made me burst into a massive ugly cry. I'm actually grateful that Laurel captured this moment on my phone. Feelings are good. I am loved and have enough and it is safe to feel my feelings.
