#reverb10: Everything's OK

Today's #reverb10 writerly prompt is: December 24: Everything's OK. What was the best moment that could serve as proof that everything is going to be alright? And how will you incorporate that discovery into the year ahead? (Author: Kate Inglis)

The best moment that served as proof that everything was going to be alright occurred this past summer, when I stumbled upon a way to be completely present whether working or parenting, but not trying to do both at the same time. And the shift has been remarkable. I still have the same (actually, increased) workload, but I no longer freak out about it. I’m happier and more present, whether I’m working in my studio or spending time with family and friends. The change has been amazing and has impacted every area of my life.

With a new baby coming, no doubt I’ll need to be even more mindful about this approach in 2011. But I'm totally up for the challenge, and in a weird way, I’m totally looking forward to it.
