#reverb10: New Name

Today's #reverb10 writerly prompt is: December 23: New Name. Let's meet again, for the first time. If you could introduce yourself to strangers by another name for just one day, what would it be and why? (Author: Becca Wilcott)

Oh the irony of this question. I know it seems like a simple one where one could indulge in fantasy; perhaps I shouldn’t be so serious and should just pick a kick ass superhero name. But the thing is, it took me so long to get past taunting about my name and true acceptance of myself, that now that I’m comfortable in my skin, I just want to be me, in this body and with this name.

And related to the name thing, if you haven’t already, you must read my friend Jim’s post about his middle name. We’ve shared eerily similar trajectories.
