#reverb10: Healing

Today's #reverb10 writerly prompt is: December 19: Healing. What healed you this year? Was it sudden, or a drip-by-drip evolution? How would you like to be healed in 2011? (Author: Leoni Allan)

Without a doubt, in 2010 I found powerful healing in letting go -- both of a long standing abusive relationship and my issues with infertility. It took a lot of self-reflective work to get there, but oh, how I have reaped the rewards.

In 2011 I want to continue this trajectory; I have some relationships that immediately push buttons for me and I want to find a way to experience peace and healing and release myself from old wounds and bitterness. Because -- as my therapist has astutely said -- we cannot change how other people behave, we can only modulate our own response and actions.
