#reverb10: Try

Today's #reverb10 writerly prompt is: December 18: Try. What do you want to try next year? Is there something you wanted to try in 2010? What happened when you did / didn't go for it? (Author: Kaileen Elise)

It was so wonderful to make a life list on my birthday this year. The process made me think of both small and large things that I want to do and try in this lifetime and there are many things I would love to try from this list in 2011.

Creatively, I’d love to try to sew a piece of clothing (#6) and spin pottery (#2). Personally, once I recover from delivering my baby, I’d like to try to run a 10K (#8). And professionally, I’d like to try to make some headway on at least one of the books that I have been thinking of writing (#16 and #17).

And in 2010, one of the things I tried from this list was making French pastry (#24). It wasn't perfect (no matter, since I'm all about embracing imperfection these days), but the end result tasted fantastic. I want to try one more type of French pastry (over Christmas) and then I'll consider this life list item tackled (even though not while in France).
