Explore 2019: Being Laurel's Kitchen Assistant

My 14-yo Laurel has always been a generous and ambitious gift giver. For Christmas she presented us with these incredible elaborate menu scrolls (including separate kid options for Violet!) presenting us with options for a 4-course meal she would prepare for us.

In order to rein things in to a more realistic time parameter I made an offer. Typically the person who leads in the kitchen, today I will explore (my #2019 word) being Laurel's kitchen assistant! I told her she's got full authority to boss me around and give me all the unglamorous prep jobs and dishwashing.

So we've got our aprons on and I'm settling in to peel potatoes. And I gotta say, it's a bit of a revelation to take the backseat and not worry about following recipes!
