Librarians = Heroes

One of my biggest feelings of loss at the beginning of the pandemic was when the library shut down. No joke. It was part of Violet and my weekly routine and it was so much more than just a library. It was community.

I was always a paper book reader, and when I blew through my pandemic haul I was like WAHHH and OMGGGG and I caved and finally started reading e-books via the Libby app, but man. I missed the library.

Though we still have not actually set foot in the library, the return of hallway book pickups has been a major bright spot in this slog.

Violet is a total book monster and has exhausted several series during the pandemic. So I decided to float an email to one of the children's librarians, telling them what Vi has devoured and asking if they had fresh recommendations.

I received a lovely email back saying that this stack was ready for pick up. OMG. Librarians = heroes.
