Pandemic Breakthrough
Have you had any breakthroughs or moments of relief recently? So many things have remained painfully the same for much of the last 14 months, but we’ve also been at this for a while, and kids have finally been making their way into school, etc.
My major breakthrough this week was with James. Until recently he was a downstairs-only dog (so much crap to get into upstairs…in fact, yesterday he got into my bathroom trash and starting eating one of my period liners 🤮🤮🤮). This means that most of my work hours are at my dining table operating as command central and not in my beloved office upstairs. It has been a highly distracted, not optimal experience.
Well, yesterday, James finally slept on the floor of my office in the morning, and he did it again today...no fancy dog bed, just on a towel. Which meant I got to work for 5 hours straight (7am – noon), two days in a row in my office, with my comfy chair, my big monitor, and my crystal collection for the first time in 14 months. I WANTED TO WEEP. (I work downstairs in the afternoon but now I am less grumpy about it!)
I hope you have a breakthrough or moment of relief soon.
