Professional Update

Big day here...but history first! Nearly 10 years ago I wanted to take on a new professional challenge. I was doing some independent consulting re: social media + branding, and was ready to take it to the next level. I put this idea out there to a couple of people and ended up having some incredible opportunities to choose from; ultimately, it felt like a no-brainer to say yes to my friend Morra Aarons-Mele.

Morra's company, Women Online, was only about 1.5 years old at the time but she brought a ton of baller experience + connections to it. It's telling that the first client I worked on with her was the American Cancer Society. I mean, what?! Over the years I have worked on the most incredible range of projects: Heifer, AMAZE.org, American Academy of Pediatrics, Muscular Dystrophy Association, Understood.org, just to name a few! We have built amazing digital activations and IRL events and never have my sometimes weird, out of the box ideas been more welcome than in my role as Creative Director at Women Online.

Also crucial: I have always been able to be the multidimensional grownup I am. We have always been remote and being trusted to deliver work-wise while juggling my other creative projects has been huge. Morra and I are both uniquely similar in that we’re also authors, speakers, podcasters, etc.

There are so many reasons I value Morra as a friend/colleague. She is an incredible leader. She is smart and creative and brings a fierce POV to helping brands and organizations level up. She issues the hard talks (when necessary) with love. She is fiercely passionate about elevating women. She is one of the most generous people I know. She is a woman who loves her husband and kids and pets fiercely. She has been one of my biggest personal/professional champions and is the kind of friend who drops off a giant bag of gourmet, gluten-free food when she knows you're in the emotional shitter.

Today is a big day is because it's official: Morra sold Women Online to Geben Communication, a woman-owned company. The team is amazing and I will remain in my role as Creative Director and keep being my sometimes weird, out of the box, multidimensional self. I am so thrilled and proud.
