Don't Panic

I am so lucky to have friends like Paige Lewin; I was asleep last night at the time (10:25 pm) when she captured a screenshot of my article hitting #1 at The Boston Globe (omg). I am profoundly grateful that I was able to put to words the feelings that many parents and educators have been wrestling with and (from what I am hearing from so many) help people feel less alone with those feelings. That is a huge part of why I am passionate about the work I do.

AND I also want to encourage you to not panic if your kid has not found their passion. I was reminded of this via an Instagram comment that made my heart swell. Someone shared that their kid hasn't taken on a big creative pursuit, but that they have learned to roll with the punches, manage expectations, and find joy in small things. Those things are HUGE in the journey of becoming a functional adult, and are especially valuable during this crazy ass time.
