Little Things

Celebrating anything feels awkward and strange given how ugly things are right now, right? Yesterday, when balloons and flowers showed up on our doorstep from Jon's family for our 20th anniversary my first thought was, "What? People are delivering balloons and flowers during a freaking pandemic?!" and second, "Wow, this is incredibly sweet. Color is so powerful. My nervous system desperately needed that moment of surprise and delight."

That evening we decided that we would disperse a little color and hopefully delight. We dropped off a few of the balloons during a birthday parade for one of Violet's friends. We left a few on the doorstep on another friend. I loved thinking of these kids smiling a little during such a tough time. I'm hoping the helium holds so we can make a couple more deliveries tomorrow. When things are so shitty, the little things can help a lot. Take care, friends, and seek out the little things.
