Embrace 2020 61/365: February 2020 reads

Uh, February clearly involved a lot of reading therapy for me. (And I'm loving my new approach of alternating "serious" reads with contemporary romances...so fun!). From here on out I'm going to make my monthly book shares more useful and provide a quick sentence or two impression on each. Enjoy! And I'd love to hear what books you're loving right now!

️⃣ The Giver of Stars by Jojo Moyes was a hell of a first read for February! I was unsure of whether I'd like it since it's a Depression era story (which is different from her other work) but it blew me away. I have been telling everyone to read this book!

️⃣ The Unhoneymooners was my first exposure to the writing team Christina & Lauren and it was a really fun read!

️⃣ My attention see sawed a bit through the first chunk of The Majesties by Tiffany Tsao, though I'm pretty sure that was related to me being a hot mess earlier this month. And when the story reveals started rolling, I was all in.

️⃣ The Bridgerton series by Julia Quinn was recommended to me by Michelle Nies + Katherine Center and I loved The Duke and I! I will for sure be pursuing the rest of the series! Book 2 is on my list for March!

️⃣ I was so delighted to receive an ARC of Kristen Howerton's Rage Against The Minivan and it is an honest, funny, beautifully written memoir about embracing the messiness and uncertainty of parenthood. GO PRE-ORDER!

️⃣ I read The Magical Language of Others by E.J. Koh in the same time window as watching Parasite and lord, was I left with ALL THE KOREAN FEELINGS

️⃣ Oh my goodness I loved The Friend Zone by Abby Jimenez. I was rooting for Josh and Kristen SO HARD and I stayed up late to finish this book and cried twice in the final chapters. And then I woke up the next day and re-read the final chapters so I could have more feelings.

️⃣ Holy crap, I finished Catch and Kill by Ronan Farrow just as the Harvey Weinstein verdict came in and and all I can say is Ronan Farrow, thank you for continuing to fight to bring that story to light.
