August 2020 Reads

What have you read lately and loved? It’s the end of August so here are my thoughts on what I read this month:

I did not see some of the plot elements coming in Whisper Network by Chandler Baker. I love when that happens!

I was completely engrossed by Rodham by Curtis Sittenfeld. I guess part of that is because we know so much about Hillary and Bill Clinton from an external media perspective but Sittenfeld also writes their communication styles really, really well.

I had many moments of privileged character face palm reading Such A Fun Age by Kiley Reid yet I found myself eager to find out where the central characters ultimately landed.

I sure was rooting for Chloe and Red -- both for their individual journeys and their togetherness in the delightfully steamy Get A Life Chloe Brown by Talia Hibbert.

Oh man, An Offer From A Gentleman is the third in the historical romance series by Julia Quinn and was another winner! I was so, so happy for how things played out for several of the characters!

If you're ready for a story of family dysfunction amidst a travel adventure you'll enjoy The Jetsetters by Amanda Eyre Ward. I could feel so well the struggle of some of the characters.

Happy reading!
