Embrace 2020 19/365: community habits

Do you have traditions/habits from your childhood that persist today? When I was a kid, every time it snowed, my Dad would march my 6 siblings and me up and down our street to shovel out all of our elderly neighbors. I don't recall being a particularly altruistic kid kid, but I don't remember grumbling about it. Basically, if my Dad said we were going to do something, we needed to do it.

It's kind of amazing that all these years later, at 46 years old, this community habit still persists. Every time it snows, I shovel out our elderly neighbors...I don't think about it, I just find myself doing it. Today another neighbor joined me with a snow blower. I love that about our neighborhood.
